Register Today for the 2008 Lexile National Conference & Quantile Symposium

Everything is bigger in Texas and so is MetaMetrics’ 2008 Lexile National Conference & Quantile Symposium, June 16–19, at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter Hotel. MetaMetrics has expanded its annual conference to focus on the widely adopted Lexile Framework for Reading and the new Lexile Framework for Writing—and added an entire day on The Quantile Framework for Mathematics.

With the theme, “Successful Teachers, Successful Students,” the four-day conference will assemble educational innovators from around the world to explore strategies for raising student achievement in reading, writing and mathematics. Among the educational stars slated to shine at the conference are author and international literacy consultant Quality Quinn; Willard R. Daggett, Ed.D., president, International Center for Leadership in Education (ICLE); education consultant Tom Welch; and Angela Shelf Medearis, award-winning author and founder of Diva Productions and Book Boosters. School administrators, classroom teachers and librarians will also share their unique perspectives on adopting and rolling out Lexile and Quantile measures to match students with targeted materials that meet and challenge their learning abilities.

16TH ANNUAL MODEL SCHOOLS CONFERENCE
Great Challenges, Real Solutions, Right Now
June 22 – 25, 2008
Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, Orlando

The Model Schools Conference on June 22-25 in Orlando, will showcase many of the nation’s most successful high schools, middle grades program, elementary schools and CTE programs that provide every student with a rigorous and relevant education. These outstanding schools will describe their programs and how they achieved such a high level of success. Attendees will be able to learn from these model schools and adapt these best practices to their own improvement plans. Schools are chosen through a partnership with the Council of Chief State School Officers and with financial support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where hundreds of schools are evaluated to determine which schools and programs have adaptable best practices to share.

The Conference will also feature how-to sessions conducted by expert practitioners. These sessions will focus on curriculum, special education, success on state exams, transition programs, rigor and relevance, and technology, to name a few.  There will also be six one-day PreConferences on Sunday, June 22, and a Post-Conference conducted by Dr. Willard R. Daggett during the afternoon of June 25 and in the morning of June 26.

Schools and districts are encouraged to attend as teams. A group discount is available for teams of 5 or more. For more information and to register, visit www.ModelSchoolsConference.comFor a PDF of the Model Schools Conference brochure click here.
