Everything is bigger in Texas and so is MetaMetrics’ 2008 Lexile National Conference & Quantile Symposium, June 16–19, at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter Hotel. MetaMetrics has expanded its annual conference to focus on the widely adopted Lexile Framework for Reading and the new Lexile Framework for Writing—and added an entire day on The Quantile Framework for Mathematics.
With the theme, “Successful Teachers, Successful Students,” the four-day conference will assemble educational innovators from around the world to explore strategies for raising student achievement in reading, writing and mathematics. Among the educational stars slated to shine at the conference are author and international literacy consultant Quality Quinn; Willard R. Daggett, Ed.D., president, International Center for Leadership in Education (ICLE); education consultant Tom Welch; and Angela Shelf Medearis, award-winning author and founder of Diva Productions and Book Boosters. School administrators, classroom teachers and librarians will also share their unique perspectives on adopting and rolling out Lexile and Quantile measures to match students with targeted materials that meet and challenge their learning abilities.

The
Model Schools Conference on June 22-25 in Orlando, will showcase many
of the nation’s most successful high schools, middle grades program,
