NATIONAL PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR

2007 State / 2008 National Principal of the Year

MetLife and NASSP logosThe MetLife/NASSP Principal of the Year program began in 1993 as a means to recognize outstanding middle level and high school principals. The program honors secondary school principals who have succeeded in providing high-quality learning opportunities for students as well as their exemplary contributions to the profession.

MetLife and NASSP would like to congratulate those principals who have demonstrated excellence as defined in the selection criteria and have been selected by their state association as the 2006 State Principals of the Year.

The National Principals of the Year are selected from the State Principals of the Year representing the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the Department of Defense Education Activity and will receive a $5,000 grant.

Each state Principal of the Year will be recognized and honored by his or her state association.

MetLife and NASSP will honor all State Principals of the Year at the Principal’s Institute and Awards Banquet held each year in Washington DC. The Institute not only salutes the principalship but provides a forum to share best practices and expertise among the states.

We encourage you to nominate an outstanding principal you feel meets the criteria and deserves the recognition.

Nomination forms and applications for the 2007 State/2008 National award will be available in late summer 2006.
