MESSAGE FROM FASA PRESIDENT

I am excited to join the leadership of the Florida Association of School Administrators. There are so many of you who are dedicated administrators working hard each day to make a difference in the lives of children and influence the future. It is an honor to serve as your President of FASA this year.

I would encourage you, as a school and community leader, to become involved in your professional organization. By doing so you can learn how to best serve the public education system in our state through the influence that you have with community members and leaders, legislators, and many of those who make decisions that will have a direct impact on our daily work with children.

This year will be one of delicate balance. We will all be providing for the safety and academic needs of our children while very carefully keeping an eye on our budgets. This is the time when we need to work closely together to advocate for public education! We could be a very powerful voice if our membership included all of the school leaders eligible to join. While our organization represents more than eleven thousand members, our membership is less than one fourth of that amount.

I’d like to see each member bring their entire administrative team from their school, plus one other administrator in their school system into the fold this year. By increasing our numbers, we increase our Voice. By increasing our voice, we increase our POWER to influence the future of public education and make a difference in our state, in your county, in your school, in each classroom for each and every child.
