MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Colleagues,
The FASA summer conference held July 13-16, 2011 in Lake Buena Vista was “epically awesome!” That phrase, the theme of the conference, also relates to each of you: for the way in which you touch the lives of students, and for the hard work and dedication you devote to your daily roles as administrators. I believe that the 2011-2012 school year will unveil positive and meaningful experiences for all of us.
I am honored to serve as your FAPA president, a position that I take seriously. I extend to you a listening ear to your suggestions and concerns. If you are not a FASA member, please consider joining (Note: membership fees were lowered to make joining more affordable). There are numerous benefits to joining. FASA, our state organization, has been our voice countless times as it lobbied and made appeals to our legislators to save the quality of education in Florida and keep certain benefits in tact for our retirement.
Because there is strength in numbers, one of my goals is to continue the initiative of membership recruitment. Two additional goals are maintenance of a strong line of communication with members, and to support the implementation of initiatives set by our state organization.
As you embark upon a new school year, I wish you much success in attaining and/or maximizing a level of excellence in educating our students. Service is my signature!
