The FASSP organizes
and unifies the effort to improve the quality of education for the middle and
high school students of the State of Florida. This is achieved through
ongoing support from school leaders.
FASSP 2014 ElectionsThe Florida Association of Secondary School Principals (FASSP) is calling for nominations for the office of President-elect and Directors in the Northeast (2) ,Central (1), South (1) and Northwest (1) Regions. View the candidate qualifications and requirements for nomination below. It takes many volunteers to ensure the success of FASSP and we hope you will consider getting involved in your Association. Nominations must be received by February 1, 2014.
FASSP President-elect (3-year commitment):
Responsibilities: The President-Elect shall oversee committee direction and other duties assigned by the President. The President-elect shall assume the duties of the President, in his/her absence.
The President shall preside at all meetings of the organization and the Executive Committee, appoint all committees not otherwise provided for, call all meetings of the Executive Committee, and shall coordinate the work of the officers and committees of the Association.
The Past President shall preside as the parliamentarian and preside in the absence of both the President and President-elect.
FASSP Directors (2-year commitment):
Responsibilities: The Directors shall be Membership Chairmen of their respective regions and work with a team of Directors from the four other FASA Departments. They shall assist in promoting new memberships and shall offer assistance in the orientation of new principals to the professional organization. They shall be responsible for securing materials from their region for publication.
Region Team Members shall be a Regional Director, two Directors from each FASA Department (FAEMSP, FASSP, FAPA, FAISA, FSAA) and one member of FAPEL. The purpose of each Region is to promote the general welfare of its members, encourage unity, establish effective communications, share resources and information, develop grassroots advocacy and membership recruiting efforts in cooperation with local associations and universities and advance the needs of public school administrators and public schools in their respective districts.

- have served no more than one term (two years) as a Director.
