Brevard Public Schools Shine With Five High Schools in U.S. News & World Report 2025 Top Rankings

Five Brevard Public Schools high schools have been recognized among the best in Florida and the nation in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools Rankings.

A Brevard Public Schools official said these rankings highlight the district’s commitment to academic excellence, with two schools placing in the Top 100 nationally and all five earning spots in the Top 101 in Florida.

Among the top performers, West Shore Jr./Sr. High School ranked #5 in Florida and #57 nationally.

“This recognition is a testament to the strength of our community and our shared commitment to academic achievement and personal growth. At West Shore, our mission is to transform our confident learners of today into the empowered leaders of tomorrow,” said West Shore Jr./Sr. High School Principal Burt Clark.

Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School, ranked #9 in Florida and #89 nationally, also earned high praise.

The rankings are based on a comprehensive analysis of college readiness, Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) participation and performance, graduation rates, and state assessment scores.

Other Brevard high schools honored on the list include Satellite Senior High School, #69 in Florida, #1,114 in the U.S.; Cocoa Beach Junior/Senior High School, #85 in Florida, #1,280 in the U.S.; and Viera High School, #101 in Florida, #1,492 in the U.S.

Brevard Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Mark Rendell praised the district’s performance.

“It is great to see the hard work of our students and staff recognized with these rankings,” said Dr. Rendell. “Our entire community should be very proud. Student access to advanced coursework is critical to their success in the future, and these schools are meeting this need at a high level.”

A Brevard Public Schools official said these achievements underscore Brevard Public Schools’ mission to serve every student with excellence as the standard.

“The district remains focused on expanding access to rigorous academic programs and fostering environments where students are empowered to succeed.”
