Principals

When joining FASA, principals also join a national organization - either NAESP (serving K-8 leaders) or NPA (serving K-12 leaders). FASA is proud to recognize the work of leaders at all levels in Florida. Please review the awards below for eligibility and recognition.

• FASA Little Red Schoolhouse Awards - State-level award for schools serving students in K-12.
• NAESP National Distinguished Principals Program - Sponsored by National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) and open to principals serving students in K-8.
• NPA Principal of the Year Award - Sponsored by National Principals Association (NPA) and open to principals serving students in K-12. Three Florida winners will be selected - one each of elementary, middle, and high schools.
• Florida Association of Student Councils (FASC) Principal of the Year - State-level award for principals for their support of student leadership.

Assistant Principals

Florida Assistant Principals are encouraged to join either NAESP or NPA as well as FASA. To be eligible for the awards below, assistant principals must be members of the sponsoring association.

• NAESP National Outstanding Assistant Principals Program - Sponsored by National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) and open to assistant principals serving students in K-8.
• NPA National Assistant Principal of the Year Award - Sponsored by National Principals Association (NPA) and open to assistant principals serving students in K-12. Three Florida winners will be selected - one each of elementary, middle, and high schools.
