National Outstanding Assistant Principal Program

The Florida Assistant Principals Association, the Florida Association of School Administrators, and the National Association of Elementary School Principals are committed to preparing assistant principals to step into the principal role. Recognition for the exceptional leadership of those who are responsible for the day-to-day operations of pre-K–8 schools instills pride in their accomplishments and reinforces their leadership in helping children develop a lifelong love of learning.


The application deadline is January 15, 2024. Please complete the application at the link HERE. All supporting materials should be emailed to acoleman@fasa.net.

 

Criteria:
  • The applicant must be a member of the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) at the time of nomination and must maintain membership through July 31, 2024.
  • The applicant must be an active assistant principal at the time of nomination.
  • The applicant must be an active assistant principal for at least two years.
  • The applicant must contribute to the well-being of the educational community.
  • The applicant must contribute to a positive and motivating environment for others.
  • The applicant must have a strong record of service (in both school and community) and be recognized as a leader.
  • The applicant must exhibit exceptional leadership in a particular school program and/is heavily involved in finding a solution to a problem faced by the school.

Process:

Public and private school elementary and middle-level assistant principals may apply for the award via the Florida Association of School Administrators (FASA). Honorees will be awarded complimentary registration to NAESP's Pre-K-8 Principals Conference and will be recognized during the event.

The 2023-2024 program applications are due to FASA by January 15, 2024. All selected awardees must submit a labeled professional, digital, photograph (The photo should be a high-resolution headshot: at least 300 dpi or higher and at least 1200 pixels,4-inches) wide. A roster of 2023-24 award winners will be featured on the NAESP website.
