District officials caution about severe consequences for involved students

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – The Osceola County school district reached out to parents on Wednesday, warning about an “unacceptable” new TikTok challenge involving local students.

In a message to families, the school district explained that the challenge encourages students to damage district-issued laptops.

“We urge you to speak with your children about the repercussions of participating in such activities,” the message reads. “If your child is found to have participated in this challenge, you, as the parent, will be held financially responsible for any damages incurred.”

In addition, district officials cautioned that any students involved in this sort of challenge will face disciplinary action, possibly including expulsion and law enforcement getting involved.

“Please take this matter seriously and discuss it with your children to prevent any harm to our students, staff and school property, and to ensure they understand the gravity of their actions,” the message concludes.
