PCPS and Polk State College Launch Teacher Apprenticeship Program

We are so delighted to partner with Polk State College for our new Teacher Apprenticeship Program!

Seven PCPS paraeducators are taking advantage of this unique opportunity to earn their degrees from Polk State and become certified teachers. As they work toward their degrees, they'll spend two years in the classroom with mentor teachers to develop their instructional skills.

This initiative is made possible by a grant from the Florida Department of Education, which will cover all costs for these aspiring teachers. Once they complete the program, they'll have a job waiting with PCPS.

PCPS and Polk State hope to continue and expand this opportunity to grow our local talent pool.
