Ribbon-cutting celebrated for George T. Baker Aviation at Miami Sunset High School

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) district administrators, School Board members, George T. Baker Aviation Technical College director Alissa Tapia, Miami Sunset Senior High School principal Rodolfo Rodriguez, as well as staff and students were on hand the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 20, celebrating the official ribbon cutting for the George T. Baker Aviation Technical College Extension Campus at Miami Sunset High School, 13125 SW 72 St.

This state-of-the-art facility will serve a crucial role in addressing the growing demand for skilled aviation professionals, providing a dedicated learning environment for both career dual enrollment students and the adult learning community at large.

The Aviation Mechanics programs offered at the extension campus will cover a comprehensive curriculum, including aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, regulatory compliance, and hands-on training with cutting-edge equipment. Students will gain invaluable experience working with various aircraft components, preparing them for certifications and successful careers as aviation maintenance technicians.
