Santa Rosa County Schools Awarded $4.1 Million in CAPE Funding for Career & Technical Education

Industry,

On March 11, 2025, Santa Rosa County Schools Workforce Education Department presented CAPE (Career and Professional Education) bonus funding checks to schools across the district, recognizing their achievements in career and technical education (CTE) while earning industry certifications.

During 2023-2024 our students earned almost 10,000 industry recognized credentials in areas like culinary, entrepreneurship, biotechnology, agriculture and information technology, just to name a few.

The Florida CAPE Act provides bonuses to schools for students who earn industry certifications. This ensures that our students have access to valuable workforce training and resources and are college and career ready by graduation. In addition, these industry recognized credentials demonstrate valuable skill sets in demand in our local workforce. For the 2023-2024 school year, Santa Rosa County earned a total of $4,100,000 in CAPE funding. This funding is used to enrich or enhance the specific program(s) where funds are earned and to grow additional opportunities each year for students at all schools throughout the district.
