Thomas Jefferson Middle School and Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School Recognized
Thomas Jefferson Middle School and Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School has been recognized by the Florida Department of Education for exceptional achievements.
Each semester, this honor is awarded to two elementary or middle school chapters and two secondary or post-secondary chapters that exemplify excellence in education through community service, fundraising, and recruitment.
Despite being a newer chapter, Jefferson Middle School’s FFEA group has quickly become a model of engagement and innovation.
Meeting bi-monthly, they host inspiring guest speakers and have earned accolades at the Brevard Future Educators Local Conference.
Their standout initiative, “Teacher Shadowing Day,” offers students a hands-on classroom experience. A recent recruitment event further demonstrated their dedication to growing the future of education.
Edgewood’s FFEA chapter has had a dynamic semester filled with impactful initiatives.
From environmental cleanups at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge to launching “Power Hour,” a peer tutoring program, their efforts have enriched both their school and community.
Their creative fundraising and active recruitment through social media and school events have further strengthened their chapter’s presence and mission.
The Florida Future Educators of America is a statewide organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing the next generation of educators. Through leadership development, service learning, and career exploration, FFEA empowers students to make a difference in their schools and communities.
