A Win for Florida Educational Leadership
Another major milestone for Florida came with the appointment of Xenia Santiago as the new Executive Director of the Southern Association of Student Councils. Her selection further strengthens Florida's influence in student leadership development across the southern region.
According to FASC leadership, the conference success demonstrates the value of student councils in preparing students for future leadership roles. Through service projects, civic engagement initiatives, public speaking opportunities, and organizational leadership, these programs help students develop the skills needed for success in college, careers, and their communities.
As Florida schools continue to expand opportunities for student involvement and leadership development, this year's SASC results provide another example of how students across the state are excelling both inside and outside the classroom.
Next year's Southern Association of Student Councils Conference will be hosted by Chapin High School in South Carolina, where Florida schools will look to build on this year's impressive performance.
