Two Pasco County schools have new principals following School Board approval on Tuesday.

Amanda McCoy, an assistant principal at Wiregrass Ranch High School, was named to lead Zephyrhills High School. The appointment takes effect Wednesday.

McCoy, 44, joined the school district in 2006 as an elementary school teacher, and over the years also has served as a learning design coach and administrator. She replaces Christina Stanley, who ran Zephyrhills since 2019.

Stanley is headed to Pasco eSchool as an assistant principal. Officials said the move came at Stanley’s request.

Retired administrator Rob Aguis will serve as temporary principal at Achieve Center-Richey Elementary School, beginning Jan. 6. Aguis served in several capacities in the district, including director of career-technical education and school principal, before his retirement.

He is sitting in for Achieve principal Chris Clayton, who is taking a leave of absence for personal reasons. A district spokesperson said the length of Clayton’s leave is undetermined, but Clayton is expected to return
