We know you're wondering, so we went through all the websites to answer the burning question: "when is winter break" for Florida school districts.

While most students will toss aside the books — and conveniently forget the holiday homework until the day before (or morning of) they return in January — on Monday, Dec. 23, a few will start their holiday earlier, on Friday, Dec. 20.

Students in some school districts will be impacted by hurricane make-up days, due to Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

Here's the breakdown for all 67 Florida counties.

Florida Christmas break: When are schools closed?

When is the winter solstice?

The shortest day of the year will be Saturday, Dec. 21. It arrives at 4:21 a.m. EST, in case you love details.

This "astronomical winter," known as the winter solstice, marks the day with the fewest hours of daylight.

For most students in Florida, the solstice arrives after their last day of school, before the Christmas or winter break begins.

When is daylight saving time 2025?

Daylight saving time starts on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November.

We'll lose an hour of sleep on March 9, 2025, when we set our clocks forward an hour at 2 a.m.

Daylight saving time will end 2 a.m. Nov. 2, 2025, when we turn our clocks back again.
