Professional Bio
Ms. Crawford has been teaching for fifteen years and this will be her eighth year as an Assistant Principal. She has been an instructional leader in Philadelphia, Hawaii, Georgia, and Florida. She always knew that she wanted to be a teacher and eventually a principal since she was five. During her teaching career, she has had the pleasure of teaching Spanish, English as a Second Language (ESOL), Business Technology, and Special Education (Math, Language Arts, Social studies, and Economics) in elementary school, middle school, and high school and at the adult education level. Crawford is certified in Spanish P-12, ESOL, Special Education- General K-12, Education Leadership, and Early Childhood Education.
Ms. Crawford is bilingual (Spanish and English). She attended an international high school where she had the opportunity to travel and meet ambassadors and other global leaders, do research, and discuss international affairs. She received her B.S. in Secondary Education and Spanish from Pennsylvania State University and studied abroad in Puerto Rico. She also received her M.A. in Curriculum Instruction and Adult Education from Central Michigan University and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration from Capella University. Her passions are to continuously improve as an effective educator, promote student achievement for every child, build positive relationships with all stakeholders, and share her experiences and knowledge with other educators.
Ms. Crawford has two daughters named Zya who is twenty-three years old and Christina who is twelve years old. She enjoys family time, hiking, camping, speaking more than one language, and traveling. Mrs. Brown has traveled to Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, The Galapagos Islands, Canada, Spain, Germany, and Brazil. She is currently learning to speak Portuguese. Her motto is: "Being multilingual is like a superpower to communicate with anyone in the world."
