FASA Principal Coaching Program

The Florida Association of School Administrators (FASA), in partnership with Connected Leadership Partners, offers the Virtual Principal Coaching Program to support the growth and effectiveness of Florida’s school leaders.

This statewide initiative provides principals with individualized, research-based coaching designed to strengthen leadership practice, enhance decision-making, and improve outcomes for students and school communities.

Program Design

Each participating principal is matched with a practitioner-based coach—an experienced current or former school leader—who understands the complexities of school leadership. Through ongoing coaching conversations, participants engage in:

• Reflective dialogue focused on real-world leadership challenges
• Goal-setting aligned to individual leadership priorities
• Action planning to support continuous growth and improvement

All coaching sessions are conducted virtually, allowing principals to fully engage while remaining present in their schools.

Program Timeline

The coaching experience follows a structured schedule designed to promote sustained growth:

2025-2026 Cohort:

• December 2025 – Program orientation and introductory session
• January–May 2026 – Twice-monthly virtual coaching sessions
• June 2026 – Culminating reflection and program close

2026-2027 Cohort:

• June 8 - August 15, 2026 - Applications open or until capacity is reached and matching with coaches begins
• August-May 2026 - Every three weeks virtual coaching sessions
• June 2027 - Culminating reflection and program close

This consistent cadence supports continuous application of learning throughout the school year.

Coaching Framework

The program is grounded in nationally recognized research and leadership development models, including:

• The Wallace Foundation research on the impact of principal leadership
• National School Reform Faculty’s Critical Friends Group® protocols
• Maxwell Leadership principles, including the DISC Leadership Profile

These frameworks guide the coaching process and ensure a meaningful, results-driven experience for participants.

Applications

The self-nomination process will open again on June 8, 2026 for FASA members only until June 30. On July 1, 2026 the application will be open to all Florida school principals until August 15 (or until the maximum number of 60 participants is reached).

FASA will fully fund first-time participants and if openings are available on August 15 repeat applicants will be admitted into the program based on order of registrations.
