Florida Association of Secondary School Principals (FASSP) Board Requirements
For the 2025 FASSP Elections, positions available include:
President-elect - this is a three-year term including one year in each as president-elect, president, and past president. This person will also sit on the FASA Board of Directors.
Northeast Region Director – this is a two-year term and representatives must be from: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, Suwannee, Union
Northwest Region Director - this is a two-year term and representatives must be from: Bay, Calhoun, Gadsden, Escambia, Franklin, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Taylor, Wakulla, Walton, Washington
To be eligible for election as President-Elect or a Director, a nominee must:
- be a secondary school principal
- have the endorsement of five (5) FASSP members
- have served no more than one term as a Director.
To Submit Nominations
- Nominations must be received in FASA office by 5:00 p.m., February 1, 2025 through the ELECTIONS FORM
- five signatures/emails of support from FAEMSP members sent to dhiggins@fasa.net, and
- Conflict of Interest Statement signed and returned to dhiggins@fasa.net

Additional Positions
In odd years, the following Director positions will be open for election:
Central Region Director - this is a two-year term and representatives must be from: Brevard, Charlotte, Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Lake, Lee, Manatee, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Seminole, Sumter, Volusia
South Region Director - this is a two-year term and representatives must be from: Broward, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Indian River, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, St. Lucie
NASSP State Coordinator - (Position Currently Filled)
FASSP is also represented at the national level through the NASSP State Coordinator. This is a three-year commitment to engage with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). Their primary responsibility is to promote NASSP’s advocacy agenda, highlight the achievement of NASSP’s advocacy efforts in the states, and increase participation in NASSP’s grassroots advocacy activities by state association members and other education stakeholders. This person will also sit on the FASA Board of Directors. Below are the qualifications for that role.
To be eligible for election as the state coordinator to the National Association of Secondary School Principals, a nominee must:
- be a principal of a secondary school,
- have served on the FASSP or FASA board in some capacity,
- must be a full-service individual or institutional member of FASA and NASSP,
- shall be elected for a term of three years (July 1 to June 30).
