Professional Bio

Camella M. Slydell, an experienced educational leader with a robust background in middle and high school administration. I currently serve as an Assistant Principal for a high school in the Palm Beach County School District and have been in various promotional roles for more 20 years. My passion for Exceptional Student Education has led me to serve for more than 12 years as an elementary school ESE teacher, elementary, middle, and high school ESE Coordinator, SAC chair, and elementary SBT Leader. Additionally, I served as the elementary Math and Science promoting inclusiveness and curriculum development.
My journey as a dual middle and high school as an Assistant Principal for six years, as the AVID Admin, PBIS Admin, Choice
admin, and Curriculum Admin, I cultivated an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities for minority and low socioeconomic learners. This experience has empowered me to create tailored strategies that support individual student growth, regardless of cultural or behavioral differences. By fostering meaningful relationships with parents, teachers, and students, I was able to establish a collaborative environment which resulted in increased acceleration on both campuses, exponential growth of a diverse robotics program, and open pathways for high school acceleration through the International Baccalaureate framework and Choice Academies. Using my Title I high school Assistant Principal I continue as the IB, Curriculum, Choice and Graduation Administrator. I maintain a proven track record of fostering growth in diploma and career-related candidates across diverse student populations including ESE and ELL students, empower educators through professional development, and create an environment where all voices are valued and heard. Using innovative approaches and creating strong teams, led to increased enrollments, dropout reduction, and providing alternative pathways to success for all students.
