Professional Bio

My name is Debbie Williams, the daughter of the Inez and the late Albert Lockwood. I am a 1986 graduate of Blountstown High School and have a Bachelors of Arts degree in English from Florida State University (1990), a Masters Degree in Administrative Supervision from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (2000), an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida State University (2004), and a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida State University (2008).
I taught grades 9 – 11 at Lake Worth Community High School in Palm Beach County for eight years before returning to my hometown in 1998 where I taught Language Arts and Reading to 6th, 7th and 8th graders at Blountstown Middle School for seven years. I was assistant principal at Blountstown Elementary School for five years (2005 - 2010), then served as assistant principal of Blountstown High School for two years (2010 - 2012), before becoming principal of Blountstown High School on May 1, 2012. I served as principal of Blountstown High School for seven years. In July 2019, I was appointed to the position of Assistant Superintendent of the Calhoun County School District. My instructional (15 years) and administrative (20 years) experiences total 35 years.
I have two sons, Brock (age 26) and Spencer (age 22). I have a living Mother that has supported me. I owe my success to the Lord. He has blessed me in some many ways, but I will mention two of the blessing. He gave me a Mother to help me raise my boys and support me. The Lord spare my life. I had a blood clot on June 4, 2019 that could have ended my life, but the Lord spare my life and the doctors dissolved the clots so I could live. Again, the Lord has blessed me in several ways and I am thankful for all his blessing and every day I am alive. Whenever I want to complain about events and circumstances, I remember how the Lord has blessed me and I try to stay positive.
