Professional Bio
Ivin J. Gunder is in his 22nd year of education and is currently the principal at Orange Park High School. He served in the classroom for 12 years before entering administration. A product of the inner city of Jacksonville, Florida, where his mother dropped out of school in the 8th grade, he understands the importance of education and early literacy. Instead of allowing basketball to use him, he used a basketball scholarship to pay for his undergraduate education at Jacksonville University. He then obtained his master's degree from the American College of Education.
Orange Park High School received 629 points on the state assessment for the 2024-2025 school year, the highest ever, and was 0.6% from an "A" rating. Mr. Gunder completed the nationally recognized New Leaders program, graduated from Leadership Florida-Education Class IV, and serves as the President-Elect for FASSP (Florida Association of Secondary Principals). He takes pleasure in giving back what was so freely given to him.
