Professional Bio
Jayne Ellspermann is a nationally recognized school leader who served as a school principal for 25 years at the elementary, middle and high school level. She was honored to be recognized by the National Association of Secondary School Principals as the National Principal of the Year. During her tenure as principal she transformed school culture and increased student achievement by creating positive learning environments through the innovative use of time, designing unique partnerships with higher education and businesses, creative and efficient use of data, and empowerment of students and staff. Through her leadership low performing schools became schools of choice. She has served as president of the NASSP, president of FASA, president of FASSP, and president of Florida School Music Association (FSMA). She is the author of articles on school leadership, a contributor to books on school transformation, and co-author of The Fundamental 5 Revisited. Her TEDx Talk provides communities a starting point for conversations on education. Currently, she is a school leadership development consultant and serves on the board of directors for Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence. Mrs. Ellspermann earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia and her master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Florida.
