Professional Bio

Rachael Havey serves as Senior Director of Professional Learning, Events, and State Contracts at Cognia. In this leadership role, Rachael supports institutions in all areas of professional learning and school improvement, organizes and implements professional learning opportunities, and collaborates with state education agencies on continuous improvement efforts. An experienced trainer, presenter, and facilitator, Rachael has presented in many local, regional, and national conferences, including those hosted by AdvancED, Cognia, Learning Forward, National Title I, Indiana Non-Public Schools, FASA, Florida Charter Schools, multiple State Departments, and has trained and facilitated many active work sessions for teachers and administrators at all levels. In addition to working as a classroom teacher, department chair, team leader, and building level coach, she has worked on school improvement at the state level assisting intervention schools and managing federal funds and programs for school improvement grants. Rachael’s work with the Indiana Department of Education focused primarily on supporting struggling schools with strategic planning and resource allocations. Additionally, she has led strategic thinking and planning work at district and school levels across the country with Cognia. Rachael holds an undergraduate degree in secondary education from Indiana University Bloomington and graduate degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Indianapolis.
